93 Tests – Anil Kumble
The former Indian captain retired from international cricket in 2008 but remains India’s leading wicket-taker in Tests with 619 wickets from 132 wickets. He is the third-fastest to take 450 wickets in Test cricket in 93 matches. Kumble’s 450th wicket came during India’s second Test against Pakistan in 2005 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
89 Tests – Ravichandran Ashwin
Ashwin broke Kumble’s record to became the fastest Indian cricketer to scalp 450 wickets in Tests. Ashwin, 36, has been the fastest Indian to get 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, and 400 Test wickets, and now also reached the 450-wicket mark in just 89 Tests.
80 Tests – Muthiah Muralitharan
The legendary Sri Lankan spinner took 800 Tests wickets at an average of 22.72 with the record of most five and ten-wicket hauls. He was the fastest to fetch 450 wickets in Test cricket and it took him only 80 matches. And after seven more matches, he reached the historic 500-wicket milestone. Muralitharan’s 450th Test wicket was New Zealand’s Daryl Tuffey in 2003.
