Farhaan Behardien thanks the BCCI for confirming India’s tour to South Africa
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the Indian side will be visiting South African shores for 3 Tests and 3 ODIs this month. This series will commence on 26th December 2021, with the Boxing Day Test match slated to be played at Centurion.
And now, South African cricketer Farhaan Behardien has taken to Twitter to thank the BCCI for confirming India’s tour to the land of the Proteas. Behardien also added that the world is going through challenging times as well.

Rohit Sharma appointed as India’s new ODI captain
The BCCI announced that Rohit Sharma will take over as the new captain of the Indian cricket team in the ODI format from Virat Kohli, starting with the series against South Africa. KohIi will be retained as the captain of the side in Test match cricket.
Also, veterans Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have been named in the Test squad for the series against the Proteas and will get one more chance to prove their worth with the willow in the whites.
Also, Sharma will replace Ajinkya Rahane as the vice-captain of the Indian Test side as well. Right-hander Hanuma Vihari also makes a return to the Indian squad for the Test series against South Africa.
Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha have been named as the two wicketkeepers for the Tests against South Africa. But then, star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, left-arm spinner Axar Patel, and opening batter Shubman Gill will miss the tour of South Africa due to injury concerns.
