Eoin Morgan opines on England’s 2nd anniversary of 2019 WC victory
It has been two great years of England team lifting the ICC 20199 World Cup under the guidance of Eoin Morgan. The cricket world got to witness one of the most dramatic and energetic events on the final night of the 2019 WC. Both England and New Zealand put their ultimate foot forward and that is why 100 overs failed to decide a clear winner.
The Super Over that followed couldn’t separate the winner either and England were handed over the ultimate glory on the now-scrapped boundary count rule. The skipper of winning squad Morgan added that his memories of the big day are fresh as ever and those things and friendship will last a long time.
“The final was the most dramatic game and the greatest game ever been played, which contributes to the hype of it. The game was so tight right till the end. The journey that we were on for the whole four years, becoming No.1 in the world, being the batting team to score the most 300s, 350s, 400s, 450s, building those memories along the way.
Yes, the experience was awesome: Eoin Morgan
“These memories and friendships will last for a long time and that is the most rewarding thing in the end. Yes, it was awesome,” said Morgan in a video posted by KKR on their website.
Morgan currently leads the Kolkata side too in the India Premier League and talked of being more than thrilled to become the no 1 side in KKR’s video. Morgan also went on to talk about how they made vital changes to their squad after their exit from the 2015 World Cup.

He added the former skipper Andrew Strauss was appointed as the Director of Cricket and he himself was retained as a skipper and the confidence instilled in them led them to shine bright in the 2019 WC. The England captain added that players like Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, and Alex Hales were added to the side so they could score at a faster pace in the high-profile tournaments.
