Eoin Morgan, JP Duminy land maiden BPL contracts
England captain Eoin Morgan and retired South African batsman JP Duminy have signed up to play in the upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League. The tournament’s seventh season will be both Morgan and Duminy’s maiden stint in the BPL.
Morgan, who recently led England to their historic maiden World Cup title, is slated to be on a T20 spree in back-to-back competitions. In August, he will represent his birthplace, Dublin in the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam. He will then move to the BPL in December, plying his trade for the Dhaka Dynamites in his debut season.
Morgan is a regular face in T20 competitions around the globe, having played in the Indian Premier League, Big Bash League, Pakistan Super League and the Caribbean Premier League. Known for his penchant to hit big shots, the southpaw has scored 5652 runs in 268 T20s at a staggering strike rate of 128.25.

On the other hand, the Rajshahi Kings have roped in Duminy as one of their two out-of-draft signings for BPL season 7. Much like Morgan, Duminy has also regularly featured in T20 tournaments across the world but hadn’t played in the BPL yet. A horrid season with the Mumbai Indians in 2018 kept him out of IPL this year. But he had a fruitful outing in last year’s PSL, scoring 251 runs with two half-centuries.
Earlier this month, the Khulna Titans signed up former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson as one of their direct overseas players for the upcoming BPL edition.
