ENG vs IND: Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav join India team at Lord’s

Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav have completed their mandatory quarantine period and have joined the Indian team at Lord’s. This signals that both the players will thus be available for selection in the third Test. Both Shaw and Yadav flew to England from Colombo and reached UK on August 3 and were undergoing the mandatory quarantine.

They were called in as replacements after Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan were ruled out of the Test series owing to injuries. Previously, both were scheduled to leave for England after the India-Sri Lanka series was wrapped up. But when they were identified as close contacts of Krunal Pandya who tested positive for Covid-19 during the series, the trip got a tad bit delayed.

The official Instagram account of the Indian cricket team has now posted a picture of the duo from Lord’s. Shaw and Yadav are spotted in India’s practice jersey and seem all happy as they are posing for the picture. “Look who’s joined us at Lord’s Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav have completed their quarantine period and have joined #TeamIndia 🇮🇳 #ENGvIND” the caption of the post read.
