ENG vs IND: Jarvo comes out to bowl for India at The Oval
Invading the pitch has become a fancy thing for the fans. It became a routine in India during the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the last few years. But one man who has managed to hog the limelight more than the players during the ongoing Test series between India and England is Jarvo. Wearing the jersey with number 69, Jarvo has invaded the field as many as three times in the series now.
The third instance took place during the first session of the second day of the ongoing fourth Test. The match was hanging right in the balance with the partnership between Jonny Bairstow and Ollie Pope blossoming for England. India were looking to pick up wicket with the ball as well.
And in the 34th over, after the second ball, Jarvo was at it again running in to bowl at Ollie Pope. Not only that, in the middle of his run-up he also rammed into Bairstow who was taken by surprise with Jarvo’s sudden appearance on the field. The play was halted for some time but the security comes under the scanner with the man invading pitch for three times in two Tests.
Jarvo did it twice in two innings at Headingley and he was eventually banned for life from the ground and also fined a significant amount.
