ENG vs IND: Here’s how you can watch India’s three-day warm up match in Durham from July 20
The Indian cricket team in England will play a three-day warm-up match against Durham’s select county championship XI. On Wednesday, it was confirmed by the county team that the match will be played from July 20 at the Emirates Riverside ground in Durham. The venue will act as a ‘home for preparation’ for the Indian cricket team during the summer in England.
The Indian cricket team will play five Test matches against England during the summer, which is also going to be a part of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23. The first Test will be played at the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground in Nottingham. Before that series, the warm-up match will be played ‘strictly behind the closed doors’.
The match will be streamed live via the Durham Cricket Youtube channel. Durham County Cricket Club announced the details about their involvement in helping the touring Indian team for their series against England. They announced the details in a press release on Wednesday.
India to use Durham’s county venue as their home venue for preparations
“Durham Cricket are delighted to announce that Emirates Riverside will host India against a County Championship XI as the tourists prepare for their test series against England later this summer,” Durham’s release informed. “The world number two test side will use Emirates Riverside as a home venue for their preparations this summer and will get underway with a three-day game against a county select on Tuesday 20 July at 11 am,” the release further stated.
Emirates Riverside will host a County Championship XI v India in a three-day behind closed doors warm up game starting on Tuesday.

The release also informed the playing conditions for the match.
“The three day game will see a number of players from the county circuit feature as they go up against the Indian national side. Play will get underway at 11 am on Tuesday with 90 overs scheduled per day with the game being played strictly behind closed doors,” Durham cricket said in a release.
On Thursday, the Indian team experienced a huge blow as it was reported that the wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been tested positive with coronavirus. It was also reported that he is asymptomatic. The COVID-19 scare which has now hit Indians in England will be a huge blow for them moving forward.
