ECS T10 Krefeld: Aritharan Vaseekaran smashes six sixes in an over

ECS

Smashing six sixes in an over is not an easy task in any format of cricket. It’s a difficult task to achieve and is not often seen in cricket. Aritharan Vaseekaran made this look ridiculously easy on Friday 21st May, 2021 while representing Bayer Uerdingen Boosters in the ECS T10 Krefeld against Koln Challengers. Several fans went berserk seeing the video and lauded the efforts of the 34-year-old cricketer.

Aritharan Vaseekaran achieved this astonishing feat in the fifth over of the match bludgeoning Ayush Sharma to all parts of the ground. The first of those balls from Sharma was relatively an easy full-length delivery which was hammered to mid-wicket. The batter stood tall and handsomely deposited the ball over the square leg boundary.

The pressure seemed to be getting on Sharma, as he targeted the stumps of the batter on the second delivery which too meted the same treatment. Struggling with his line and lengths, the bowler bowled a half-volley next ball which the batter gleefully accepted and smoked it over square leg. Another length ball was on offer which got the same treatment from a rampaging Aritharan Vaseekaran. Sharma’s misery was put to an end even on the last ball, when the 34-year-old batter clubbed him over cow-corner to etch his name in the record books.

Unstoppable Aritharan Vaseekaran the hero for Bayer Uerdingen Boosters

Aritharan Vaseekaran has been one of the shining stars for the team this season and carried on the momentum in this game too as he blitzed his way to 61 runs off just 25 balls against Koln Challengers, smashing seven sixes and three fours to give his team a fantastic start. It seemed he would continue for more before Srinivas Nareshkumar struck in the eighth over to send him back.

His bludgeoning innings has enabled him to move from the seventh spot in run-scoring charts to the third position. He has scored 161 runs in just seven games at a staggering strike rate of 180 plus for his team, for the Bayer Uerdingen Boosters, in the ECS T10 Krefeld this season and is now looking good to add more to his tally.
