On Tuesday, May 11, Dinesh Karthik, the veteran Indian batsman, received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination. Even as the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc, a number of cricketers, including Smriti Mandhana, and Virat Kohli among others have taken the vaccine.

The death tolls and infected cases have gone up at an alarming rate in the grave global scenario. In the meantime, Chris Lynn, the Australian cricketer, poked fun at Karthik. The latter was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders bio-security bubble where the first case of COVID-19 was reported in the Indian Premier League.

As many as four cricketers- Varun Chakravarthy, Sandeep Warrier, Tim Seifert and Prasidh Krishna- from KKR tested positive for the novel coronavirus. On Tuesday, Karthik shared a picture where he was taking the vaccine.

Dinesh Karthik and Chris Lynn’s hilarious conversation

“Could have at least worn pants,” Lynn, who’s a part of the Mumbai Indians, said in his tweet. Karthik also had a hilarious reply in store. “I was thinking shorts like you, then realised I’m not in the Maldives. So wore this.”

It’s pertinent to note that Lynn was a part of the Knights and played alongside Karthik in the 2018 and 2019 edition of the IPL.
