Dinesh Karthik opines on whether RCB will lift IPL trophy this year
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) start wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik audaciously dismissed a question, when asked what he feels about RCB lifting their maiden trophy this year. He said that he’s not someone who works based on predictions, and acknowledged that the side looks very strong at the moment.
Responding to the same, Karthik said on IPLT20.COM:”(Laughs) I am not a man for predictions. But I must say the mood in the camp is good and I think we are (heading) in a good direction. We are in a good space, so I must say we are looking good at the moment.”
Meanwhile, Bangalore have won their previous three encounters in the tournament, and Karthik has played a crucial role. He has played some prolific knocks against various opponents and fulfilled the finisher’s role in the team, leading to several victories.
When asked about his strategies before walking out to bat, he said: “It’s about assessing the situation, trying to understand and use your experience to figure out what’s the best way to do it on that day or that wicket. The part that I have been most excited about is the clarity that has been given to me and I am trying to do my best at it.”
He was roped in by RCB during the mega auction this year for a price of INR 5.50 CR and keeps the gloves in all the games. His form in this season has been remarkable and the team will trust him with the bat in times of need.
