Deepti Sharma attains career-best position in latest ICC rankings
India’s Deepti Sharma has reached career-best positions among bowlers and all-rounders in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings after some fine performances over the past week in the Asia Cup being played in Sylhet, Bangladesh.
Sharma grabbed three wickets against Pakistan and two each against Bangladesh and Thailand to move up three slots and reach a career-best-equaling third position, which she had first attained in November 2019. She has overtaken South Africa fast bowler Shabnim Ismail and now only trails England spinners Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn.
Sharma has also moved up one slot to 35th among batters and is ranked third among all-rounders after overtaking Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner. Sharma’s number three position among all-rounders is also career-best-equaling attainment.
