Deepak Chahar shares an interesting 15-year-old picture with Rohit Sharma
India had an eventful outing against New Zealand in their first T20I of the three-match series as they grabbed the match by five wickets. It was a special outing for men in blue as they stepped up with a new T20I skipper in Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid and kicked off on a winning note. In the same light, pacer Deepak Chahar came up with a 15-year-old picture with skipper Rohit which was clicked on the same venue.
As soon as the match got over, Chahar got clicked with the hitman and posted a collage of his current picture and their 15-year-old picture on the same venue. He added that the picture is back from 15 years and both of them didn’t have beards at that time.

Deepak Chahar didn’t have a great day with the ball in the 1st T20I
Talking about the match, India chased the target of 165 runs where Rohit Sharma set the perfect tone with his crucial innings of 48 runs but Suryakumar Yadav turned out to be the real hero as changed gears with his 62 off 40. Talking about Chahar, he didn’t have an ideal outing as he picked one wicket while conceding over 10.00. However, India won the game by five wickets.
“Towards the end, we saw it wasn’t easy, was great learning for the guys because those guys haven’t batted in that situation before for India. It was great learning for them to understand what needs to be done, it’s not about power-hitting all the time and you try and put the ball to the left or right of the fielder and try and take singles or find boundaries.
“As a team, we are happy that those guys got to bat in that situation and finished the game off. Technically was a good game, missing a few players and coming and see what the new players have in terms of ability and I think the way we pulled it back in the last 3-4 overs was magnificent. In the end, it was a great effort from all our bowlers,” said Rohit after winning the first T20I as a full-time skipper.
