DC vs RCB Preview – Struggling Delhi up against fierce Bangalore
The 50th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 will witness Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore crossing swords for the second time this season. The two sides will meet at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on May 06, Saturday, as the hosts will try to outclass the visitors so as to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Delhi Capitals, in their previous IPL game, clinched a thrilling victory against the defending champions- Gujarat Titans. The game went down the wire with Gujarat needing five runs to win off the final delivery, but Ishant Sharma’s magnificent bowling at the death helped the David Warner-led side win their third game of the tournament.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, had a memorable and unforgettable outing in their previous game against the Lucknow Super Giants. After facing a defeat at the hands of the KL Rahul-led side on their home ground in Bengaluru, RCB turned the table around when they defeated LSG on their home ground in Lucknow.
Coming off victories from their respective previous games, both teams would be gunning for another victory to get the crucial two points in the game.
Pitch and conditions
The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium has shorter boundaries, making the bowlers’ job difficult. The bowlers will have to maintain line and length so as to keep the batters in check and restrict them from going big. Captain winning the toss might opt to bowl first, keeping in mind the dew factor.
Venue details: Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi

Probable playing XI for Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore clash:
Delhi Capitals
David Warner and Co did a great job against Gujarat in their previous game when they restricted the hosts from chasing a paltry target of 131. Even after dismal outings from the batters’ end, the bowlers did not fail to surprise. They would look to put up a similar performance.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
The Faf du Plessis-led side is placed fifth on the points table with 10 points to their name and will be eyeing to enter the top four with a victory in their next. The batters and bowlers have done tremendously of late and hence they will be expected to deliver similar performances.
