Dale Steyn

South African pace spearhead, currently out of action with a shoulder injury has become the latest biggest name to join the Euro T20 Slam as a marquee and icon player. New Zealand opener Martin Guptill has also joined the league.

Six franchises will compete in the tournament and it will be jointly hosted by three countries – Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland.

Steyn has been recently struggling with a shoulder injury which he sustained during the IPL. This ruled him out of the ongoing World Cup where he could not participate in even a single game.

The T20 tournament is a joint venture between Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland and the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond. It will commence on August 30 and wind up on September 22.

Shahid Afridi, Chris Lynn, Shane Watson, Babar Azam, Brendon McCullum and Luke Ronchi were initially designated as the marquee/icon players of the six franchises. Other big names who will participate in the tournament include Imran Tahir, JP Duminy, Eoin Morgan and Rashid Khan.
