CSK takes fans on a ride to recall memories of IPL 2021 in a new video
The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) had to be suspended on May 4 after multiple positive cases emerged in different camps. Even the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were affected with their bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji and a bus cleaner contracting COVID-19 inside the bubble. Until then, CSK had played superbly in the IPL losing only a couple of matches in seven outings.
However, things didn’t go as per plan and the tournament, unfortunately, had to be stopped. But CSK has made sure to take their fans on an emotional ride. On their official Twitter handle, the franchise shared a video which dates back to the first week of March when the players had started to assemble in Chennai for a camp ahead of the start of the season.
The glimpses of everyday moments have been shared in the video, from the practice session to dressing room stories, and have captured key moments during the season until it was abruptly stopped. In the end, some of the CSK players could be seen urging the fans and followers to mask up and stay safe during these tough times.
Here’s the video:

CSK in IPL 2021
After a disappointing IPL 2020, the three time champions, CSK, made a stunning comeback this season. When they started their season with a thumping loss to the Delhi Capitals, many feared that it would be a repeat of last year. But the team rose to the challenge and different players stepped up in every match to surprise the opposition. They were also at the top of the table until DC played their 8th game and won it comfortably to topple them.
On the other hand, CSK lost to their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) thanks to a stunning knock from Kieron Pollard. Overall, their batsmen, especially, Faf du Plessis and Ambati Rayudu kept them ahead in the game while the bowlers stepped up whenever needed the most.
All-Rounders Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja were class apart with the latter having a perfect game against RCB when the team was in trouble. It was a comprehensive show from CSK and were looking good to claim their fourth IPL title until the tournament got suspended.
