CSK pay an emotional tribute to Suresh Raina after the IPL auction
Suresh Raina did not find any takers in the 2022 IPL mega auction. The 35-year-old has been a part of the IPL since its inception in 2008, but the 15th IPL season will not see Raina featuring in it.
And now, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have paid their tribute to their beloved ‘Chinna Thala’. CSK took to Twitter and thanked Raina for all the memories that he has provided to the cricketing world.
Suresh Raina is CSK’s highest run-scorer in the IPL
Suresh Raina is the most prolific CSK batter. The left-handed batting colossus is the highest run-scorer for the ‘Men in Yellow’ and has plundered a staggering 5528 runs in his IPL career.
Raina is also known as Mr. IPL and has scored in excess of 400 runs in 9 out of the 14 seasons that he has played in the IPL. The legendary cricketer has also been a part of the CSK squad every time that they have won the IPL as well.
In the IPL auction, the CSK outfit focused on getting back their core side. The ‘Men in Yellow’ bought back the likes of Dwayne Bravo, Ambati Rayudu, Robin Uthappa, and Deepak Chahar. Apart from that, CSK also bought overseas recruits Devon Conway, Dwaine Pretorius, and Maheesh Theekshana. The four-time IPL champions also bolstered their pace bowling department by buying Chris Jordan and Adam Milne as well.
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are the defending champions of the IPL. The MS Dhoni-led side beat the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side in the summit clash of IPL 2021 by 27 runs to lift their 4th IPL crown. Ravindra Jadeja is CSK’s highest-paid player this year and will draw a salary of INR 16 Crore. Legendary skipper MS Dhoni will be paid INR 12 Crore.
