Cricketing fraternity lauds Stuart Broad as he joins the 500-wicket club
England pacer Stuart Broad on Tuesday (July 28) became the seventh bowler in Test cricket’s history to take 500 wickets. Broad achieved this feat by dismissing West Indies batsman Kraigg Brathwaite in the 3rd Test at Old Trafford, Manchester.
Rain played spoilsport on Day 4, with no further play possible as stumps were called early. As a result, Broad continued to be stranded on 499 Test wickets since Day 3. He finally reached the much-awaited milestone an hour of play into Day 5. Incidentally, his teammate James Anderson claimed his 500th scalp by dismissing the same batsman.
