Claiming all-outs: Teams to bowl out oppositions most often in T20Is
The bowling department is considered to be the most crucial one when it comes to the shortest form of the game, the 20-over format. A bowling attack that can pick ten wickets inside 20 overs is a luxury any team would like to have. Compared to Test cricket and ODI format, the frequency of the teams getting bowled out in the T20Is is quite low but some teams have excelled in this skill.
Pakistan stand top in the list of bowling out the opposition most times in Men’s T20I cricket due to the presence of top T20 bowlers in their ranks for a long period. One could argue that playing more T20I matches did help Pakistan in topping the list. But the fact is that Pakistan have bowled out the opponents on 31 instances which is nine more than any other team in Men’s T20I cricket. Pakistan have effected the 31 all outs across 157 T20I matches which is nearly once in every five games.
Australia and New Zealand are second on the list as they bowled the oppositions on 22 instances apiece but have played 128 and 131 T20Is respectively. West Indies and Sri Lanka are narrowly behind the Oceania nations with 21 instances of bowling out the opposition in T20Is. India, who have played the 2nd most number of Men’s T20Is, have managed to bowl out the oppositions only on 19 occasions i.e. once in every seven games. It is easily the lowest frequency among the top teams of the T20I format.
The only full member team which comes close to Pakistan’s frequency of bowling out the opposition in Men’s T20Is is Afghanistan. The emerging cricketing nation has played 81 T20Is till date and bowled out the oppositions they faced on 14 instances. Among the Associate teams, Netherlands finds a place at the top having bowled out the opposition in 14 times. Overall, only eight teams have bowled the opponents out more often than the Dutch cricket team in Men’s T20Is.
