3. Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings (2008) (37 balls left)
The clash between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in the 36th match of the 2008 IPL, saw a batting first Chennai posting 156. However, Mumbai put in an excellent performance and chased the target down in just 12 overs, with 37 balls remaining in the game. Sanath Jayasuriya’s explosive 114* in 48 balls propelled MI to the record win.
2. Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders (2023) (41 balls left)
Rajasthan Royals put up a show against Kolkata Knight Riders in match 56 of the IPL 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Kolkata posted 149 runs on the board for Rajasthan to chase, and the inaugural champions were propelled to a brilliant win by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson. Jaiswal scored 98* runs in 47 deliveries, whereas Samson amassed 48* runs in 29 balls. Rajasthan won the game in the 14th over of the game, with 41 balls left.
1. Deccan Chargers vs Mumbai Indians (2008) (48 balls left)
The quickest 150 chase in IPL history came when Deccan Chargers took on Mumbai Indians in the 14th match of the IPL 2008. After the first innings, Mumbai had posted 154 runs on the board. However, Adam Gilchrist’s unbeaten 109 off 47 deliveries helped Chargers register an emphatic win. They won the game by 10 wickets with 48 balls to spare.
