Can’t offer too many loose balls against Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer: Rashid Khan

In the upcoming IPL 2022 campaign, Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan will play for the Gujarat Titans (GT), a new team. In T20 cricket, Rashid already has an incredible tally of wickets. But, prior to the game, Rashid discussed which batters he should be cautious of and what he should do to cope with those challenges.

Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, according to Rashid, are two of the biggest challenges. Rashid remarked that what distinguishes them apart from the rest is their belief in their batting prowess. Both of these batters, according to the Afghan trickster, can make the spin bowlers look like a complete joke.

“Pant has his strong zones and weak points, and I know where I should be bowling. Against batters like Pant and Shreyas Iyer, you can’t offer too many loose balls. As soon as you bowl those deliveries to them, it’s pretty easy for them, because they have that confidence. The power they have and the belief in their shots is what allows them that extra energy to clear the boundary easily,” Rashid told TOI.

“So for such batsmen, I always have it in my mind that, ‘no mistake, no loose balls to them’. Just hit the right area. Whatever I’m bowling, make sure it’s the best enough, whether it is a wrong’un or a flipper. My line and length should be good,” he said.

I want to give my 100 percent effort in every match: Rashid Khan

Although being one of the top spinners in the game, Rashid believes that he isn’t responsible for everything. The leggie has repeatedly demonstrated that he is a team player who gives his all on the field, whether batting, bowling, or fielding.

Rashid does not believe that everything is dependent on him and that he must win games for his side. According to the Afghan spinner, anytime any player begins to consider all of this, the game suffers. As a result, he prefers to keep things simple and only wants to give his all in every contest.
