Cameron Green is going to be the next superstar: Irfan Pathan
Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan has spoken very highly about Australia sensation Cameron Green and believes that he is going to be the next big superstar in world cricket. Notably, five-time champions Mumbai Indians spent INR 17.50 crore to sign the youngster in the IPL auction and he didn’t take much time to announce his arrival in the cash-rich league.
In MI’s last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the 23-year-old smacked 64* runs off 40 deliveries. When many of the visiting side batters were struggling to get going, Green kept MI in the match and helped the side post 192 runs after 20 overs. Even with the ball, he picked up one wicket, giving away 29 runs in four overs. Thus, Pathan believes that the all-rounder is getting better with each passing day and will be one of the players to look out for in the coming time.
“Cameron Green is going to be the next superstar in world cricket. He’s a talented player and we are going to more of him because he is raising his game with every passing day,” Pathan said while talking to Star Sports.
The youth are standing up for the MI in the absence of superstars like Bumrah and Archer: Finch
Against Hyderabad, the young players of Mumbai Indians stepped up and helped the team win their third match of the season. Tilak Verma was once again sensational with the bat while Arjun Tendulkar bowled brilliantly with the new ball and also in the death. Courtesy of which, the Rohit Sharma-led side is now placed sixth on the IPL Points Table and former Australia international Aaron Finch gave all the credit to the young blood, who have been terrific so far for MI.
“The youth are standing up for the Mumbai Indians in the absence of superstars like Jasprit Bumrah and Jofar Archer. The team was missing the big guns badly in the first couple of games but these young kids have taken it upon themselves to deliver now,” Finch said.
