Cameron Green delighted after Mumbai Indians bag him for INR 17.5 crore
The Australian all-rounder Camron Green was delighted to have been acquired by the five-time IPL winners and stated that he is “humbled”.
“I’m pinching myself that this has all happened. It’s such a weird feeling watching an auction for yourself. I can’t believe how nervous I was and I was shaking like anything when the final call was confirmed. I’ve always been a huge fan of the IPL and it’s going to be so cool to be a part of it. The Mumbai Indians are one of the powerhouses of the competition so I feel very humbled to be joining them. I can’t wait to get there next year,” said the man of the moment, Cameron Green.
Tracked him for 2-3 years: MI owner Aakash Ambani
MI owner Aakash Ambani was elated after signing the young all-rounder in the mini-auction. He stated that the side had been tracking the Aussie all-rounder for a couple of years and that he would add a lot of value to the franchise.
“Cam (Cameron) Green we tracked for 2-3 years, and his recent performance against India we thought that us that is the kind of player we need. We were looking for players who are younger, that give us more lifetime value, that’s why Cam is the perfect guy to come in – all three (bought so far) are fantastic players very happy to get Cam,” Ambani said.
IPL 2023 will mark Green’s debut in the lucrative T20 league. Speaking about his international career with the Aussies, the all-rounder has featured in eight games and scored 139 runs at an impressive strike rate of 173.75.
