Brian Lara predicts the scoreline of the India-Sri Lanka T20I series
The Sri Lankan cricket team managed to post a victory in the third and final ODI of the three-match ODI series against the Indian cricket team. And, West Indies cricketing legend Brian Lara offered his thoughts on the upcoming T20I series between India and Sri Lanka.
Lara opined that winning the third ODI will give Sri Lanka some confidence when they face up against the Indian side in the T20I series. However, Lara added that he still expects India to win the three-match T20I series 2-1
Lara concluded by stating that without the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and his young brigade will post a come from behind 2-1 victory in the T20I series.
“Here we are, in the three-match series between India and Sri Lanka in the T20I version of the game. Now, India won the 50 overs series 2-1, with Sri Lanka winning the last match. And I believe that will give Sri Lanka a little bit of confidence to go out and win the first T20I. I still expect India to win, and it could be a 2-1 series win in favour of India. Without the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, I still expect India to win the series, but it is going to be one where they may have to come from behind,” said Lara in a video posted on his official Twitter handle.

India beat Sri Lanka in the ODI series that preceded the T20I series
Coming into the three-match ODI series with a bunch of newbies like Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian side led by Shikhar Dhawan comfortably beat the Sri Lankan side by a margin of 2-1.
Suryakumar Yadav won the Player of the Series award for his scintillating performances with the willow for the Indian side. The T20I series against Sri Lanka will be the last assignment that the Indian side will face before the hugely anticipated T20 World Cup that will be held later this year.
