The month of December is full of Tests and ODIs as the fans won’t witness the action of the shortest international format anytime soon. In the T20 World Cup year, in which England won the mega title in Australia in November, many prominent batters performed throughout the year as they feature in this article.

5. Glenn Phillips (716)
New Zealand’s destructive middle-order batter Glenn Phillips has scored the fifth most runs in T20Is in 2022. The right-handed player struck 716 runs in 21 matches at an average of 44.75 and a strike rate of 156.33. In 19 innings, Phillips smashed one century and six half-centuries with the highest score of 104 coming against Sri Lanka in the T20 WC down under.
4. Babar Azam and Sikandar Raza (735)
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza are joint-fourth in this list. Babar has amassed 735 runs in 26 innings at an average of 31.95 and a strike rate of 123.32 with the highest score of 110*. He hammered one century and five half-centuries in the format in 2022. Raza also mustered 735 runs in 24 games at an average of 35.00 and a strike rate of 150.92. In 23 innings, the right-handed batter hit five half-centuries with the best score of 87.
3.Virat Kohli (781)
Star India batter Virat Kohli finally hit form in the Asia Cup campaign. His lean patch in international cricket seemed to get over with his magnificent hundred against Afghanistan in the competition. Overall, Kohli occupies the third spot in this chart. The 34-year-old has slammed 781 runs in 20 innings at a stellar average of 55.78 and a strike rate of 138.23 this year. Kohli registered one ton and eight fifties in the T20I format in 2022.
2.Mohammad Rizwan (996)
Continuing from where he left off last year, Pakistan’s prolific wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan has scored the second-most T20I runs this year. The right-handed player missed the 1000-run mark by just four runs as he ended the year with 996 runs in 25 innings to his name. Rizwan struck ten half-centuries at an average of 45.27 and a strike rate of 122.96 with the best score of 88*.
1.Suryakumar Yadav (1164)
India’s Suryakumar Yadav has had a breathtaking year in the 20-overs format in 2022 as he tops this list. The explosive middle-order batter racked up 1164 runs in 31 innings at an average of 46.56 and a strike rate of 187.43 with two centuries and nine fifties. He became only the second player after Rizwan (1326 in 2021) to reach the milestone of 1000 runs in T20Is in a calendar year.
