BCCI secretary announces one-off Test between India women and England women
On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8th March), the Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah announced a Test match between India and England women teams. The last time India women’s team played Test cricket was in 2014 when they faced England and South Africa.
On the occasion of #InternationalWomensDay, I’m pleased to announce that #TeamIndia @BCCIWomen will play a one-off Test match against @ECB_cricket later this year. The women in blue will be donning the whites again ?? ??

While Shah revealed no other details, according to ESPNCricinfo, the Test is set to take place when India tour England in the summer.
This will be a welcome step for Indian women’s cricket which has faced a long hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. They played no other event than the Women’s IPL which consisted of four T20 matches. India women’s team returned to international action after a year when they confronted South Africa in the first ODI on 7th March in Lucknow.
