BBL 2021-22: Young Sensation Mohammad Hasnain cracks a triple wicket maiden on debut
21-year-old Mohammad Hasnain had a dream start to his Big Bash debut with a triple wicket maiden over and the Pakistan pacer was very impressive. Hasnain has been having a roller coaster of a ride so far after making his international debut in 2019 and has gone on to play 18 T20Is and eight ODIs. His economy rate has been slightly off the radar but has continued to keep hitting the 150 Kmph mark occasionally.
Not many bowlers in the current circuit have been bowling at an express pace like the youngster and he managed to impress his BBL teammate Ben Cutting in his stint in PSL. Hasnain was included as the overseas campaigners for the Sydney Thunder side alongside Sam Billings and Alex Hales. Starting against the Adelaide Strikers, he immediately repaid the faith by bowling one of the best overs in the BBL.
Mohammad Hasnain bowls a brilliant triple wicket maiden over
Mohammad Hasnain took just two deliveries to make a mark in BBL as Matthew Short was caught in the deep square leg area. He followed it up with a screamer of delivery to Jake Weatherland as the ball came in sharply and quickly as well to be given LBW. Jonathan Wells was the final wicket in the over as he was caught in the mid-wicket by Ben Cutting to make it three for 25.

Earlier on the day, Sydney Thunder posted 172 on the board on the back of Matthew Gikes’s 93. Adelaide Strikers kept losing wickets at regular intervals and the lack of partnership affected their chase. Hasnain finished with figures of three for 20 on his first game in BBL and the fans did enjoy his maiden stint in the league. This is not the first time that Hasnain has created damage in a single over as he broke through the international scenes with a hattrick in just 19 years two years back.
Pakistan does have a lot of pace battery in their squad including Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf. Hasnain adds to the list and he is going to be a huge prospect in making for the future. Sydney Thunder still have six games to go in the league stages and Hasnain is definitely one of the bowlers to watch out for in the remaining games
