BBL 10: Hobart Hurricanes complete squad with Lamichhane signing

Lamichhane

Hobart Hurricanes on Thursday (November 19) roped in Nepal legspinner Sandeep Lamichhane for BBL 10. This will be Lamichhane’s maiden appearance for the Hurricanes, having played for the Melbourne Stars earlier.

The 20-year-old leggie has been impressive in the BBL with 26 wickets at an average of 19.80 in 20 matches across two seasons. Lamichhane said he was excited to return to Australia’s premier T20 tournament, this time donning the purple jersey.

“I am humbled and honoured to join the Hobart Hurricanes family for BBL season 10. I have always got a lot of love and support in Australia, the premium quality of competition in Big Bash is exciting and I can’t wait to play at the Blundstone Arena!” he said in a statement.

Hurricanes head coach Adam Griffith said that the Nepalese sensation has the ‘X factor’ needed to boost the Hobart franchise. With Lamichhane’s signing, the Hurricanes have now completed their squad for this year’s BBL.
