Sri Lanka registered an emphatic victory by 97 runs in the third and final match of the ODI series against Bangladesh. They already lost the series due to the losses in the first two games. Bangladesh were bowled out for 189 runs in a chase of 287 runs in the third match. Kusal Perera and Dushmantha Chameera were the stars of their team’s victory. There were many new milestones and landmarks that were achieved in this series.

1 – This is the first time that Bangladesh have won a series against Sri Lanka in any of the three formats. Both the teams played 22 series in international cricket before this, and in all of them, either Sri Lanka won or it was drawn.

269 – Bangladesh veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan picked up 3 wickets in this series taking his ODI wickets tally to 269. He is now levelled up with Mashrafe Mortaza and is the joint-highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in ODIs.

1 – Kusal Perera struck a wonderful century in the third ODI. He became the first Sri Lankan captain to smash a century against Bangladesh in the fifty-over format.

1 – Dushmantha Chameera registered the best bowling figures (5/16) by a Sri Lankan bowler in Bangladesh. He is also the first Sri Lankan bowler to pick a fifer against Bangladesh in Bangladesh in ODIs.

237 – Mushfiqur Rahim looked in great touch in this series scoring 237 runs with the help of 1 century and 1 half-century. This is the highest tally of runs for him in a bilateral ODI series.

4000 – The Bangladesh wicketkeeper also completed 4000 ODI runs while batting at number 4. He became the sixth such player in the 21st century.

74 – Wanindu Hasaranga scored 74 runs off 60 balls in the first ODI of the series. This is the second-highest score for Sri Lanka while batting at number 8.

8 – Bangladesh wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim hit a brilliant hundred in the second game. This was his eighth ODI century at number 4 taking him to the fifth spot in the tally.

14000 – In the first match, Tamim Iqbal completed 14000 runs in international cricket, and became the first player from Bangladesh to reach the landmark.

50 – Bangladesh bowlers Mehidy Hasan and Taskin Ahmed completed 50 wickets of their ODI career in this series.
