BAN vs ENG: Bangladesh announce squad for England T20Is
Bangladesh announced their squad for the three-match T20I series against England, scheduled to be played later this month. For the series, they have called up three uncapped players to join the squad. Batsman Towhid Hridoy, pacer Rejaur Rahman Raja, and left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam are the three players included in the team. The inclusion came following their stunning performances in the recently held Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Apart from them, batters Shamim Hossain and Rony Talukdar have also been recalled after an impressive spell in BPL. Hossain makes a comeback having last played for Bangladesh in November 2021. Meanwhile, Rony’s only T20 international was against South Africa in 2015.
Yasir Ali, Soumya Sarkar, Mosaddek Hossain, Ebadot Hossain and Shoriful Islam have been excluded from the squad. Notably, they all were part of the Bangladesh squad for the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia in November last year.
The first match of the T20 series is scheduled to be played on March 9. The second and the third match will be played on March 12 and March 14 respectively.
This will be the first bilateral T20 international series between Bangladesh and England.
