Green has ben making waves in Australian domestic cricket despite playing only a handful of games. The Australian batting legend Greg Chappell has praised Green for being the best young Australian batsman he has seen since Ricky Ponting. Green had also taken a five-wicket haul on debut as a 17-year-old.
Selector Trevor Hohns said, “Cameron’s domestic form has been outstanding and he has carried it through for Western Australia this summer. As a potential player of the future this is an opportunity for him to be part of the squad and build on his experience.”
The ODI series between India and Australia shall commence in Sydney and Canberra from November 27 to December 2 before the teams play T20Is at the same venues from December 4-8. The two tour games shall be played in Sydney on December 6-8 and December 11-13 before the first Test in Adelaide on December 17-21.
