AUS vs IND: 2nd T20I Preview – India look to continue their T20I winning streak
Aaron Finch’s Australia and Virat Kohli’s India will take on each other at the SCG in the second T20I on Sunday. A clinical performance from the visitors meant that they won the match by 11 runs, taking the lead in this intense rivalry in the shortest format.
Australia sent in India to bat first, with India making 161/7 powered by an exceptional performance by Ravindra Jadeja (44* off 23 balls) and a good knock by KL Rahul (51 off 40). The bowlers backed it up with some tight bowling and taking wickets at crucial times. Yuzvendra Chahal, who wasn’t a part of the starting XI, ended up being the Player of the Match for his spell of 3/25 in 4 overs. Natarajan had a dream debut- taking 3/30 and the wicket of his first IPL captain- Glenn Maxwell.

Aaron Finch is 3 sixes away from completing 100 sixes in T20Is and will become the 1st Australian to do so.

Team News:
Australia:
This game becomes a must-win for Australia if they are to remain alive in the series. D’Arcy Short seemed to struggle a lot, as he failed to accelerate even after sticking around for 15 overs. Mitchell Starc had a good game after the horrendous show in the ODI series. Coach Justin Langer was visibly unhappy with India’s decision to get in Chahal as the concussion substitute of Ravindra Jadeja, who ended up being the man of the match. Australia might consider promoting Wade to No.3 position.
India:
This win shall give India’s T20 side a world of confidence, as they managed to defeat Australia without 3 key players- Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Jasprit Bumrah (who was rested). The bowlers stepped up in crucial moments, however, the batting in the middle overs failed to impress yet again. Sanju Samson had a good start but he failed to convert it into a big score. India can be expected to rest a lot of their premier bowlers with the red-ball practise match coming up on 6th December. However, Ravindra Jadeja’s hamstring injury and concussion ruled him out of the T20I series, with Shardul Thakur replacing him in the squad.
