Ashwin denies asking ICC to relax rules for bowlers to make way for ‘doosra’
India’s top off-spinner Ravi Ashwin is currently in England gearing up for a high-profile event that is set to commence on June 18. Ashwin would be one of the vital aspects of the team that will step up to gain glory over New Zealand in the World Test Championship final. However, in the latest turn of events, the ace spinner used his social media to clarify an issue he has been accused of.
Some days back, some media reports stated that Ashwin has requested the ICC to relax the 15-degree rule to help bowlers make way for ‘doosra.’ However, the 34-year-old cleared the air and added that he would never make such demands to the apex cricketing body. In fact, he criticized the ‘reports’ for carrying such irrelevant and fake things.
Really?? Pls don’t carry wrong stuff!! I will never say such a thing.

It was reported that the random media channel made the wrong conclusion from Ashwin’s media channel and added that he wants ICC to relax a rule for bowlers which will help them bowl ‘doosra’, a type of off-spin delivery.
Sanjay Manjrekar opened up on Ravi Ashwin recently
Talking about Ashwin, he was caught in another round of reports recently when Sanjay Manjrekar stated that he doesn’t add the off-spinner in his list of India’s all-time match winners. Various names from the cricketing world had contrasting opinions to that of Manjrekar and even Ashwin replied to his statement in a sarcastic manner.
India’s spin great currently has 409 Test wickets under his belt in the 78 matches he has played so far at an average of 24.69. His magical figures also include thirty 5- wicket hauls and seven 10-wicket hauls making him India’s fourth-highest wicket-taker in the purest format of the game. It will be a thing to see how he would turn tables for India in the upcoming WTC.
