Arjun Tendulkar spends more time in gym than anyone else from MI, reveals James Pattinson
Mumbai Indians are cruising towards securing a playoffs berth in IPL 2020. Amongst the contingent they have taken to the UAE is Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. According to MI bowler James Pattinson, the youngster is putting in more hours in the gym than any other cricketer in their squad. The Australian bowler revealed the information during a free-wheeling chat with his fellow bowler Trent Boult.
The pace duo was seen relaxing in the special chat organised by Mumbai Indians. Boult and Pattinson shared their experiences of their times in the UAE and also engaged in a few fun activities. One of them was a rapid-fire round. When Boult asked Pattinson about which player spends the most time in the gym, Pattinson answered Arjun Tendulkar.
While Arjun is not a part of the MI squad, the youngster is in UAE as part of MI’s net-bowling unit. He has been working with the MI unit for the last three months and has been bowling to the players at the nets while developing his own game under the watchful eyes of bowling coach Shane Bond and Director of Cricket Zaheer Khan.
The 21-year old left-arm all-rounder has represented Mumbai in age-group teams. Arjun has also played for Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Young Cricketers side. Even in his early years, he has displayed similar passion and dedication towards the game and its preparation like his illustrious father. While the senior Tendulkar ruled the cricketing world with his batting, the younger one is readying himself to do it with the ball. Although the modes are different, the father-son pair shares the immense love for the game.
