Any BBL team would love to have a player like Babar Azam: Aaron Finch
Australia white-ball skipper Aaron Finch has expressed his desire that Pakistani captain Babar Azam should come to Australia and participate in the 2022 edition of Big Bash League (BBL). Finch also emphasized on the fact that Pakistani players have lot of talent and more players should come to play down under in the T20 League.
After winning the Test series, Australia were defeated by the home-side in a three-match ODI series. To note, the visitors won the first ODI. However, Pakistan led by skipper Babar Azam made a resounding comeback and won the last two matches. Babar who scored 276 runs with an average of 138 in the series, was adjudged player of the series.

“The talent of Pakistan cricket is extraordinary. I think world cricket is better when Pakistan are playing well and world cricket is better when they have the opportunity to play in our domestic league,” Finch was quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
“I just asked Babar (Azam) if he’s interested in coming and playing for the Melbourne Renegades and he certainly is – and, hopefully, we can announce that signing tomorrow!” Finch joked. “If Babar Azam is available to play Big Bash, any team would love to have him,” the Australian skipper added.
Talking about Babar Azam’s numbers in T20 cricket, the right-handed batter has played a total of 73 matches for Pakistan, in which he has scored 2320 runs at an excellent average of 45.17. The 27-year old plays with a decent strike rate of 129.13. He has also stroked 25 fifties and one century in the 20-over format. Not only T20Is, Babar plays at an amazing average of 45.98 in Tests and 59.18 in ODIs as well.
After the Test and ODI series, the home-side will take on Australia in one-off T20I. The match will be played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on April 5 (Tuesday). Both teams will be looking to win the match and finish the tour on a high.
