Ajinkya Rahane recalls old days after visiting his school
Indian batter Ajinkya Rahane recently visited his school, SV Joshi High School in Dombivli along with his wife and daughter and went nostalgic while taking a walk into the places where it all started for him. Rahane was last seen in international action in the Test series in South Africa and was dropped from the Indian Test squad for the ongoing Sri Lanka Test series citing poor form. The selectors did not close the doors for him and instead wanted him to play Ranji Trophy and get back his form.
The 33-year-old has gone been going through a tough phase in the last two years and hasn’t been able to consistently stack up runs that he used to do in the past. The right-hander who finished as India’s leading run-getter in the previous World Test Championship cycle could manage just two fifties in the entire 2021 and his overall batting average has dropped significantly as well. He did score a century and a half-century out of the four innings in Ranji Trophy for Mumbai but bagged two golden ducks also in the remaining innings which remains a worry.
Coming here felt special: Ajinkya Rahane
Rahane posted a video of his visit to his school and felt that the changes in the place haven’t affected his love for it. He recalled the days when the school had backed him to do well in cricket and showed the ground where he started his cricketing fundamentals. The veteran batter has represented India in 192 international games across formats and has scored more than 8000 international runs as well.
