Ajaz Patel etched his name in the history books this month in Mumbai by becoming the first and only New Zealand cricketer to pick up a ‘Perfect 10’ in Test match cricket. He achieved this feat in the 1st innings of the second Test against India.

And now, the Kiwi bowler has opened up on his incredible feat. Patel stated that he started out initially as a fast bowler and then switched to spin bowling. Patel also added that he spent close to 8 months working on his action as a spinner.

Patel revealed that his action has changed over the course of time, and he is currently happy with the way he is bowling. Patel also said that his main focus in his journey has been to work hard.

It took a long time. I spent seven to eight months just working on my action. The action has changed throughout my career to get to a point where I am happy with it. It has taken a lot of work, but it’s definitely a good choice. The only focus in my journey has been hard work,” said Patel while speaking to The Indian Express.

It was a great gesture from Ravichandran Ashwin to request Twitter to verify my account: Ajaz Patel

Ajaz Patel’s Twitter account was also verified after his 10-wicket haul. And, Indian spin bowling colossus Ravichandran Ashwin played a role in it. Ashwin took to Twitter and tweeted that a player who has taken a ten-wicket haul in an innings in Test cricket deserves to be verified.

And, Patel has stated that since his account has been verified, he will now get a lot more attention. The left-arm spinner concluded by stating that it was a great gesture by Ashwin to request Twitter to verify his account.

It’s good I got verified but there’s more attention now. Earlier, I could keep doing my work without getting noticed. It was a great gesture by Ravi Ashwin to request Twitter to verify my account,” concluded Patel.
