A fairy-tale finish, I can smile for the rest of my life: Ambati Rayudu
As another Indian Premier League season came to a close, it was history repeating itself, with Chennai Super Kings going on to win the title, making it their fifth IPL title overall. In the final of the IPL 2023 edition, CSK defeated Gujarat Titans, by five wickets in a last-ball thriller.
The match was also heart-wrenching for CSK fans as Ambati Rayudu bid adieu to the IPL. Ambati Rayudu went all emotional as he broke into tears after CSK’s successful campaign. The 37-year-old made it special for himself and the fans as the CSK batter chipped in with a useful contribution in a massive run chase. “Yes, I mean it is a fairytale finish. I can smile for the rest of my life, I couldn’t have asked for more. I mean, it is unbelievable. Was fortunate to have this,” said Rayudu.
The former Indian player also continued by saying he could smile for the rest of his life and also expressed his gratitude towards his family for supporting him during his IPL adventure. In the IPL 2023 final, Rayudu scored 19 runs off eight balls while hitting two sixes and a boundary.
