3) 62- Shaheen Afridi
The Pakistan pacer finished with 62 wickets in 2023, after playing a total of 30 matches across formats. 42 out of those wickets came from the 21 ODI matches he played. In the longest format of the game, Shaheen played four matches and picked up 14 wickets, while in T20Is, he bagged six wickets from five games.
2) 63 – Kuldeep Yadav, Mitchell Starc
The Indian spinner added 63 wickets to his international career in 2023. Out of those 63 wickets, 49 came from 30 ODI matches he played. In fact, Kuldeep finished as the highest wicket-taker in the 50-over format this year. He didn’t play a Test match in 2023 but scalped 14 wickets from nine T20I games.
Starc is one of the most lethal bowlers in this generation and he did his reputation no harm in 2023, finishing with an impressive tally of 63 wickets. The majority of his wickets came in Tests. He featured in nine Test matches for Australia and picked up 38 wickets. In ODIs, he bagged 25 wickets from 14 games. As it was the 50-over World Cup year, the left-arm pacer was rested for all the T20I assignments that the Aussies had in 2023.
1) 66 – Ravindra Jadeja
The star all-rounder finished as the highest wicket-taker in 2023, with 66 wickets. Jadeja picked up 33 wickets from seven Tests and 31 from 26 ODIs. The remaining two wickets came from the two T20Is he played towards the end of the year against South Africa.
