All you need to know about India vs Australia World Cup Final
The much-awaited final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will get underway on Sunday, November 19, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, as India and Australia take on each other in the summit clash. Notably, it will be the second time ever that the two teams will lock horns in the final of the ODI World Cup after 2003, where Australia emerged victorious by 125 runs.
India have had a perfect campaign so far as they finished on the top of the points table, having won all of their nine matches with 18 points at the end of the group stage games They had a semi-final clash with the fourth-placed New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, which they won by 70 runs to seal their spot in the final.
On the other hand, Australia started their World Cup campaign with back-to-back losses against India and South Africa. However, the Pat Cummins-led side made a brilliant comeback by winning their remaining seven games on the trot to finish third on the points table with 14 points. The Kangaroos had a semi-final clash against South Africa, which they won by three wickets at Eden Gardens, Kolkata to seal their place in the final against India.

Reserve Day for bad weather
If the final is interrupted due to inclement weather, then a reserve day has been kept in place to produce a result in the epic clash. The shortest game which can take place between the two teams is of 20 overs and the match will continue from the same stage if it’s shifted on the reserve day.
Closing Ceremony Details:
The ODI World Cup 2023 final will be attended by several eminent personalities of India including the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi while the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has also been invited. An air show by the Surya Kiran aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force will be on display ahead of the match for ten minutes.
All the World Cup-winning captains from the previous 12 editions will also be honoured during the mid-innings as BCCI will present special blazers to previous champions. Furthermore, there will be more performances by the music director Pritam Chakraborty who has also composed the theme song of the World Cup 2023 ‘Dil Jashn Bole’.

India have appeared in three World Cup finals so far (1983, 2003 and 2011) and have won the coveted trophy twice in 1983 and 2011. On the other hand, Australia have played in seven World Cup finals so far (1975, 1987, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015) and are the most successful team in the history of the tournament with five titles to their name (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015).
Prize Money Details:
The total prize money of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is US$10 million. The winner of the tournament will be awarded US$4 million, while the runners-up will take home US$2 million. Furthermore, teams were also awarded US$40,000 for every match won during the group stage of the competition.
