World Cup winning captains to be presented with special blazer

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has invited all the former World Cup-winning skippers to the finals between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. All the former captains will be given a special blazer on the morning of November 19 for them to wear during the game. It’s also been reported that the likes of Clive Lloyd, Kapi Dev, Allen Border, Arjun Ranatunga, Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting, MS Dhoni, Michael Clarke and Eoin Morgan will be present but Imran Khan will be the only captain to miss the occasion as he is currently serving his time in prison.

Other than that, BCCI has also organised a musical performance by Pritam after the first innings. The legendary music director is expected to perform songs like Lehra do, Jeetega Jeetega, Dangal, Deva Deva and Dil Jashn bole among a few others. He and a set of singers are slated to be performing on customised floats and will greet the spectators while 500 dancers will be dancing along with the musical performance.

Meanwhile, in the second drinks break of the second innings, the governing body has also planned a light and laser show. They are bringing show curators for the laser show from the United Kingdom, who have more than 25 years of experience in the business. Interestingly, there will also be an aerial champions board after the winner is announced. This will happen for the first time in any sporting event all across the globe.
Hence, preparations are in full swing at Narendra Modi Stadium for the final.

Team India has already reached Ahmedabad after their emphatic win over New Zealand in the semi-finals while Australia are slated to reach on the evening of November 17. Both teams are expected to have an optional training session on November 18 before facing each other in the grandest spectacle in cricketing history. There’s already immense pressure and it will be intriguing to see how both teams come out on the big day.
