Watch: David Warner bats right-handed against R Ashwin
Veteran Australia batter David Warner was seen batting right-handed in India’s second ODI against Australia in Indore. Chasing a mammoth total of 399, the visiting team needed a brilliant start. But in the second over itself, they lost two important wickets of Matthew Short and Steven Smith.
Warner, however, was much relaxed and switched his hands to play in the middle. Notably, this was not the first time, when Warner turned into a right-hander, having done that on a few occasions in the past. He eventually managed to get going and also completed his half-century against India but was dismissed by Ashwin soon afterwards as the off-spinner dismissed him lbw. However, replays showed that Warner had edged the ball, but decided not to review and fell for 53 off 39.
Soon after that, the veteran India spinner also picked up the wicket of Josh Inglis. With that, Australia lost their fifth wicket in the middle. Ashwin, on the other hand, looked brilliant and will be hoping to get the job done in order to buy his ticket for the upcoming ODI World Cup. It is slated to begin on October 5 in Ahmedabad.
