Watch: Jasprit Bumrah bowls full throttle at NCA nets
India pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who last played an international game almost 11 months ago, is now showing major signs of his national team comeback. Bumrah, on Saturday, August 12, was seen practicing in the nets at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Notably, a lower-back injury kept the pacer out of the scheme of things for the said period.
Bumrah will soon fly to Ireland for a three-match T20I series against the home team, where he is not only set to lead the bowling line-up but also take command of the team, as the likes of Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav haven’t been announced as a part of the squad. The series will also mark his captaincy debut in coloured jersey for the Indian team, as he has previously led the side in the Test format against England.
Seeing Bumrah bowl in such a good flow definitely comes as good news for the cricket fans, as the team has badly missed his services for a prolonged period now. Being a spearhead of the bowling unit, the Ahmedabad-born’s form, and rhythm will be key as the Men In Blue also prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup and the all-important ODI World Cup.
