BCCI releases media rights tender for bilateral games
The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) recently came forward to release their media rights tender for India’s forthcoming bilateral matches. The board announced the launch of the tender and even invited applicants to bid for the media rights to India’s international and domestic matches.
BCCI stated that they will include the detailed terms and conditions of the tender in the Invitation to Tender (ITT). The ITT can be obtained for a non-refundable fee of INR 15 lakh. The ITT will be available to purchase until August 25.
The BCCI put forward a press release in which they provided every piece of information with the release of the ITT. In the release, they outlined that the purchase of the ITT is integral to anyone looking to submit their bid for the media rights tender for India’s bilateral matches.
The previous deal for media rights ended in March 2023, with Disney Star as its holder. They secured the media rights for a whopping INR 6138.10 Crore. Disney Star payed INR 61 Crore per international game across formats reportedly. Furthermore, BCCI expect the rights for the tender to be even higher this time around.
The BCCI will be keen on finalizing the tender deal by the late stages of August. It would give the holder plenty of time to prepare for India’s first bilateral series in the cycle.
