Sachin Tendulkar lauds England’s tenacity in the close-fought Ashes
The cricketing world witnessed one of the most riveting Ashes series where almost every day was filled with multiple twists and turns. Four out of the five Tests had results, with the fourth Test ending in a draw after a lot of time was taken away by torrential rain. Australia managed to retain the urn but England will be proud of how they came back to draw the series 2-2 after losing the first couple of matches.
The legendary Sachin Tendulkar heaped praise on the home side, who played some exhilarating cricket, especially during the last three matches. The former India captain termed England’s tenacious comeback from 0-2 down in the series was a “tribute” to the longest format of the game.
“From being 2-0 down to drawing level, England’s tenacity in this #Ashes series is a tribute to the beauty of Test cricket. The ability to rebound demonstrates the depth of character and the mental fortitude this format demands. Mother Nature might have denied us a series result, but that didn’t dampen the spirit of this incredible game. A series to remember for a long long time,” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted.
