Rohit Sharma opens on Virat Kohli’s lean overseas patch and form slump

The Indian team has gone through many ups and downs over the last few years, with one of the biggest talking points in the squad being the form of ace batter Virat Kohli. Regarded as one of the greatest batters of this generation, Kohli struggled to get runs on the board in the past few years as he yearned for a century.

With his overseas century drought lasting up to five years and being recently ended after the 34-year-old smashed a brilliant ton against the West Indies in the ongoing multi-format series, it is safe to say that Kohli’s form attracted many questions from reporters, and with the questions also came annoyance from Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.

The 36-year-old recently came forward to express his frustration over the same repeated questions over Kohli’s form and opined that he had answered the same question multiple times. Rohit stated that the people who talk do not know what is going on inside the dressing room.

“I have answered this question multiple times. The outside noise, who has scored how much, taken how many wickets, or hasn’t taken… People sitting outside, when they talk, they don’t know what is happening inside,” Rohit Sharma was quoted as saying by India Today.

Inside talks remain inside and we want it to stay inside only: Rohit

Furthermore, Rohit was also of the opinion that they would like the inside talk to stay inside, and the entire squad is focused on winning the series rather than the outside comments.

“Inside talks remain inside and we want it to stay inside only. We don’t look into all those things. For us, it is important how we win a win or a series. Our focus is on that instead of who is talking what. This is something that I have said a number of times and in future as well I will say this only,” he said.

It does seem like Kohli has recovered from his lean patch, as he looked to be in fabulous touch across the two Test matches against the West Indies and has been in good form as of late as well.
