Jasprit Bumrah drops massive update on his India comeback

Team India speedster Jasprit Bumrah dropped a massive update on his return to the national team in an emotional social media post. Notably, Bumrah was recovering from a surgery he underwent after nursing a recurring back injury, which kept him confined to the sidelines since September 2022.

It is worth mentioning that the pacer has been undergoing rapid recovery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. He has been bowling seven to eight overs to regain his match fitness. In positive news for Indian cricket fans, the pace spearhead took to his social media handle to share a huge update on his return to the national team with snippets of his bowling at the nets.

Delighted with his recovery, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) responded on his social media post as they eagerly await his return to the setup as much as the fans do. As per reports, the premier pacer is likely to play few practice matches at the NCA so as to receive the green signal upon full recovery.

“Cannot wait to see you back for team India,” BCCI responded to Bumrah’s post on Instagram. Notably, the background music in the video shared by Bumrah had the lyrics “Tell the world I’m coming home.”

Speaking about his injury timeline, Bumrah had to pull out of Asia Cup 2022 as he was undergoing rehab. After missing two months of action, Bumrah was included for the T20Is against Australia and South Africa. He played the last two T20Is in the three-match Australia series. However, was ruled out of the South Africa series, with the BCCI attributing his absence to a back injury.

Furthermore, he missed the T20 World Cup 2022, the ODIs against Sri Lanka, BGT, the IPL, and the WTC final. After his surgery in New Zealand, Bumrah began his recovery at the NCA. He is likely to make his return in the coming months.

With the 2023 ODI World Cup, Bumrah will be eyeing to return to the setup in the crucial tournament. Team India play their first match against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.
