Only two women cricketers with centuries in all formats
Scoring a century in any format is a great achievement for any player. Reaching the three-figure mark is one of the proudest moments for any cricketer playing this beautiful sport. But to achieve the feat in all three international formats is even more special. In the history of Women’s cricket, there are only two players to have the distinction of being all-format centurions.
Let’s take a look at the only two women players with centuries in all the formats of the game:
1.Heather Knight
England captain Heather Knight is the first-ever women player to smash centuries in all three international formats. The 32-year-old made her international debut while appearing in a one-day international against India way back in 2010. A few months later in the month of November, Knight made her maiden T20I appearance against Sri Lanka. Her debut in the whites came the following year when she took the field against arch-rivals Australia in Sydney in January 2011.
The right-handed batter smacked her first ton (157) against the Aussies in a Test match in Wormsley in r 2013. Knight’s first ODI century (106) came four years later against Pakistan in the World Cup in Leicester in 2017. She completed her set of hundred by slamming 108* against Thai in the T20 World Cup in Canberra in 2020. Overall, in her 13-year career, the English skipper has scored two hundreds each in Tests and the 50-overs format and one in T20 internationals.
2.Tammy Beaumont
England’s Tammy Beaumont is only the second and latest entrant in this special list. The 32-year-old made her international debut in an ODI game against West Indies in Basseterre in 2009. A few days later, Beaumont made her maiden appearance in a T20I against the same opponent and at the same venue. Her Test debut came against rivals Australia in Wormsley four years later in 2013. The right-handed wicketkeeper batter first reached the three-figure mark (104) in an ODI against Pakistan in Worcester in 2016. She reached the feat (116) in a T20I against South Africa in Taunton in a Tri-Nation series in the same year. In the ongoing Ashes Test match against the Aussies, Beaumont completed her set by slamming a magnificent 208 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. She has a solitary ton in Test and the shortest international format while nine in the 50-overs format.
