CSK sweat on Ben Stokes’ fitness ahead of MI clash

Ben Stokes aims to be fit for arguably the biggest franchise match on the Indian calendar after suffering pain in his heel after Chennai Super Kings’ practice session at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, reported by The Indian Express.

Stokes started his Indian Premier League campaign as a ‘specialist batter’ after a cortisone injection to his left knee as a part of a treatment construction to be fully fit for The Ashes in the summer.

Stokes is crucial in CSK’s middle-order arsenal, giving them the structure to their Indian batting core. The English star, who cost CSK a hefty price tag (16.25 Cr), will have to wait a little longer to get back into the scheme of his bowling fitness regime.

The 31-year-old is considered to have a 70-30 chance of playing the game against Mumbai Indians on Saturday, April 8.
