The star all-rounder was on top of his game with three wickets from three games and remained unbeaten in two. He comfortably leads this chart ahead of former Sri Lankan great Muthiah Muralitharan, who took 188 wickets from just 46 matches at Colombo’s Sinhalese Sports Club Ground.
Most international runs on a single ground
Notably, Shakib also holds the record for the most international runs on a single ground. He has scored 4677 international runs from 141 matches at Shere Bangla National Stadium, just 15 runs more than Mushifiqur Rahman and 244 runs more than Tamim Iqbal at the same venue.
Most balls bowled in T20I history
Shakib, with 131 wickets from 112 T20I matches, is only two wickets behind New Zealand pacer Tim Southee. Both cricketers are also competing for the record of most balls bowled in T20Is, with the Bangladeshi all-rounder having delivered 2451 balls from 112 T20Is, 116 more than the Kiwi veteran.
