IPL 2023: 3 Players PBKS might pick at the auction
Punjab Kings will enter the auction this year with the purse amount of INR 32.20 crore. They have three overseas slots to fill. After releasing Mayank Agarwal, the franchise named Shikhar Dhawan as the new skipper. They are likely to add options to the middle-order and the bowling department in the auction. Here are three players PBKS might pick at the auction.
Cameron Green
Cameron Green will be an ideal option for Punjab as he can come down the order and smack the bowling. The Australian batter is handy with the ball and with Liam Livingstone playing as all-rounder in the side, Green could be effective whenever Bhanuka Rajapaksa is not playing in the XI. He also adds as a cover for the released pacer Odean Smith who proved to be costly in the previous season.
Jaydev Unadkat
Jaydev Unadkat could slot in as the third medium-pace option for Punjab Kings alongside Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh. It will allow them to bolster their batting department with overseas stars and also could act as a backup option for Arshdeep. Unadkat has been terrific this season and recently led Saurashtra to another title in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Given that Unadkat has got the slower ones, Punjab Kings might think about bringing him into the squad.
Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib Al Hasan will feature in the upcoming auction at a base price of INR 1.5 Crores. The Punjab franchise will look to bag him. The Bangladesh all-rounder has been around for a long time in IPL. and can bolster the spin department, which looks slightly below par for PBKS. Shakib will can also be used as a floater in the batting order while he adds to the back-up option for the destructive all-rounder Livingstone.
